A couple of things to mark on your calendar…

The weekend of January 26-27, I am planning to lead a shop ride. Where we go and which day it is will all be based on weather and trail conditions. Perhaps Skeggs. Maybe the Demo. More info to come once we know the weather predictions.

The weekend of March 15-16, there will be a bunch of rides and a party. Probably one of our bigger events of the year. This would be a very bad weekend to take that ski weekend in the mountains – as you will regret missing this.

Hmmm, that is a hard question to answer. The rides are social, with lots of regroups, and we end up going the pace of the slowest. And there usually is a spread of skill levels on the ride.

But I like to ride technical singletrack, so try to choose routes that cover lots of this (so some bike handling skills would be needed).

If you are comfortable riding the trails at Skeggs or Demo, or the more difficult ones at Waterdog, you would likely be fine for my rides.

SF is at 0.43” for past 24 hours. Ben Lomand at 1.77”. And the storm hasn’t really gotten here yet… Neither really tells me what it is like at Skeggs or Demo, but it is pretty obvious that it will be wet on the trails. So it looks like the only riding I am doing tomorrow is on the couch…

Ok, really not looking good for a ride this weekend. Friday’s storm is predicting a bit of rain for us, and I’d rather not risk messing up trails by riding in the mud.

If we get more than a quarter inch on Friday, I will cancel. I will post a follow-up here on Friday afternoon with the results.

Damn – I wish the weather reports predicted better for this weekend. If the ride happens, it will be Saturday.

Better news on Mar 15-16. Great weather has been ordered, of course. But it also turns out to be Saint Patty’s day. Now we have a Patty at the shop – maybe we are celebrating her on this day? I didn’t realize she was a saint, though…
