Crazy Advanced Ride

This “ride” is not so much a ride in the trail ride sense of things, but a description of a place where some go to play – the area behind Carlemont High School (also called DMC). This won’t give you a description of a route, but instead tell you a place where you can start and where you will pop out at.

The top of this area is on Hastings Road (marked with a red star on the map – you can get there by riding up trail 10 from the Carlemont Cul du Sac). When you get to the road, make a left and go until the clearing on the right. Just before the next set of houses after the clearing is an unmarked path – that’s the entrance.

The bottom is one of the side roads near Carlemont High School at Alameda De Las Pulgas. Between these are a lot of dirt jumps, gaps, berms, steep drops, and a handful of wooden jumps. This is a playground for Grommets on 8” travel bikes.

Actually, non-advanced riders can check this place out reasonably safely. There are lines around most of these stunts. But be warned – even a path that looks very well ridden often leads directly to a stunt that only the most advanced should attempt. The first time you go down a line, ride slowly (or even consider walking it) until you know what is there.

Even if you feel you are good enough to try some of these, you really must visually check out everything before you ride it (and come in to the shop to check out our selection of body armor and full face helmets).

After you get done playing and get to the bottom, you have the choice of riding around on the road to your car, or riding back up as much of this area as you can to the top (the easy lines are rideable uphill).
