1. Wednesday Wrides, 6:30pm

Sunset is at 8:20PM this Wednesday 05/26/2010. Twilight ends and near-darkness falls right around 9:00pm.
Next week on June 2, the Regular Ride launches at 6:30PM, and will for the rest of the summer.

We are still on the hunt for someone to do catering for our post-ride eating habits. If you would be interested in taking a turn at the grill and hosting our food service for an evening, please contact Patty at patty@passiontrailbikes.com, and let her know. Also, we are searching for a caterer to do the events on a regular basis so Patty can wride and coach instead of cook.

This week, we are hoping the wrain will stop long enough for us to wride. If it does you can follow Charles or one of the other wrenches as we pedals ‘wround here.

Or pick up one of these nifty DVD’s to help you snuff the soggy trails blues

Please remember to put a light on your handlebar and have a blinky ready for the ride back to the shop! CA vehicle code requires it. Don’t get caught out on the streets in the dark! Also, a reminder that we need to be super conscientious about stopping at stop signs and lights, yielding to pedestrians, and operating our bikes predictably and responsibly while on the roads and trails. Let’s be safe and kind out there.

For all the details about what makes each group listed below unique, please refer to this webpage. If your questions aren’t answered there, you can also email us for info at info@passiontrailbikes.com.

All rides start pedaling from the shop: Passion Trail Bikes, 415 Old County Road, Belmont, CA 94002 650-620-9798.

The FRISKY rides will go out at 6:15 PM.
The REGULAR rides will go out at 6:30 PM.
The WHITE SOCKS ride will go out at 6:35 PM.
The FBG or Fat Bottomed Girl ride will go out at 6:35 PM.
The STRAGGLERS ride may form and start chasing around 6:45 PM.
For future planning, we have the upcoming start times each week for the first wave of the REGULAR ride posted on our Community Calendar

Note we may not have leaders for each ride but usually someone knows their way around. All groups will meet back here at Passion Trail Bikes right around dark for the usual story telling & beverage enjoyment. We will have stuff to eat plus chips and fatty snacks and EANABS to pair up with the Devil’s Canyon Brewery’s Full Boar Scotch Ale, Silicon Blonde Ale, and Little Devil Root Beer. We will hang out until about 10pm, so come on down, even if you can’t make the ride! Passion Parties are better with YOU in the mix!

Patty has an after work trailwork project scheduled for this Thursday at 5pm. Meet at the dam. We have a tool box stored in the woods and will be working on making some progress on the Lake Loop Trail. Please RSVP to Patty at patty@passiontrailbikes.com, and let her know you want to join in so she knows she won’t be alone in this effort.

Also, a little advance warning that we will be doing more of the same on Sunday June 6th, at 8:30am

4. National Trail Daze Festival in Graeagle June 5th

Sez Nica: “Ok, we’re going big. And by big, I mean really big.” The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is attempting to throw the biggest trail daze yet for the up and coming National Trail Daze on June 5th. We’re partnering with two other organizations and loads of local businesses to bring you the best event ever.

It’s called Lost Sierra Trail Daze and will be hosted in the pristine town of Graeagle. We’ll be working in 4 different locations in partnership with the PCT Association and the Feather River Trout Unlimited.

Please help spread the word by printing out this flyer and telling all of your friends.

We will have:
- Free Camping
- Live Johnny Cash Cover Band “Rusty Evans and the Ring of Fire”
- Free food for all volunteers
- Bouncy Castle for the kids
- Smokey the bear
- Community Expo in Graeagle

Bottom line is that it will be off the hook. Please let everyone know and come on up to get the summer started right.

And Erik sez: “Just so everyone knows, Mills Peak is a brand new trail that we are hoping to complete this year. Including the connector at the bottom, it will be around 8 miles of fresh and flowy new singletrack dropping from the Mills Peak Lookout to the floor of the Mohawk Valley. Close to 2,000 feet of downhill. The Lake Davis Project will also be new trail construction. For those who prefer staying closer to town, we need some help building the new Graeagle Community Pathway as well.”
