This bike has been nicknamed the “girlie bike” around the shop, because of the colors. Not sure if we started calling it girlie first, or our customer did. But either way, it is probably something the Guvernator would call girlie.
Here’s what our customer had to say about this bike…

Some of you are probably saying “Huh, Santa Cruz? I didn’t know you were a Santa Cruz shop?”
Well, you are right, we are not a Santa Cruz shop. But we have built more than one, and have serviced many. It is very common for customers to buy a frame elsewhere they want built, or for Charles to work with other local shops to get bikes we don’t normally carry for customers.
Enough of the story – let’s look at the bike…

This upcoming Sunday is NorCAMBA’s Ale’s and Trails up at China Camp State Park near San Rafael (Marin County). This is a benefit for NorCAMBA, the mountain bike advocacy group for northern CA. Food, drinks, rides for all levels, raffles, live music, and more. Should be a lot of fun, and all for a good cause. Check out http://www.norcamba.org/ for info.
We have had a sale on Specialized bikes for a few weeks now. Only a few frames and bikes left – all at $500 to $1000 off. Now all the 2006 Giant bikes and frames are going on sale also. 10% off what we have in stock. If you are on the market for a new bike, now would be a good time to go shopping.

Here is our second Bike of the Month. Going to change to a slightly different format for this one than what I did last time. The owner provided such great details (and has some pretty strong opinions) into why he bought the bike that I could just use it verbatim…
(note- click picture to see larger size)
Question: What about the Turner made it such that you wanted to buy one? How was it a better ride for you than your last bike?

Specialized gathered together a few hundred of their favorite bike dealers from all over the US to roll out the 2007 model year bikes and product. The venue moved back and forth between the Silver Legacy in Reno and Northstar at Tahoe. Northstar’s closed to mountain bikes this year, you say? Sure… unless you were a Specialized dealer during the week of the roll out. We were treated to no lift lines, low traffic on the mountain, and some pretty high level attention from the Northstar staff, but that ignores the main topic of this post. Bikes. That’s what I’m bloggin about.

Passion Trail Bikes specializes in customizing your bike build to your needs and desires. We deliver an equal number of full custom builds starting with frames from Maverick, Turner, Specialized, Giant, and Intense as we do bikes that begin life as stock bike builds from Specialized, Giant, and Maverick. All bikes are delivered with at least some level of customization, sometimes just a stem change and suspension tuning, but more often a bit more complex to make sure we deliver the best possible ride for any given rider or desired trail experience. Frequently we start with a bike or frame that is already in stock at Passion, but we also special order many bikes and frames to suit our customer’s needs.
If you are interested in a bike that is custom tuned to you riding preferences, download our personalization spreadsheet and come visit us for a free build consultation.
To show examples of the bikes we have built, I am going to try a “bike build of the month†series here (kind of like a calendar, but without the bikini models). Here is the first one…

You may have seen this wheel around the shop. It looks a little different than what you have on your trail bike, doesn’t it?
