Park Tools has a quarterly award they give out called the “Park Tool Distinguished Service Award.” And they just announced that Passion Trail Bikes is the recipient of the award for this quarter!
Congrads to Charles, John, Berry, and Sterling for all the work they have done to earn this award! Passion Trail Bikes is the first shop in Northern California to receive this award.
Special thanks to those who submitted us for this award. And for those who wrote reviews on us at MTBR, Yelp, and other places! It is good to see this feedback that what Charles is trying to build in Passion is coming through.
I can’t wait to see the real plaque – for now all we have is the online image (looks like they even have our logo engraved in to it).

Just a quick post of things going on around the shop:
- Specialized has provided us with an awesome display rack for bikes. This jungle gym has replaced the wobbly wall rack of old…
- Timing on getting the rack was great, as we have received some 2 dozen new bikes. We were letting our stock run a little low as we waited for the 2007s to come out – well, now they are here. Many are still in boxes, but Sterling, John, and Charles will get them on the floor quickly.
- Save the Date – We are planning a little shindig on the weekend of March 3 and 4. Group rides, a small fleet of demo bikes, party on Saturday night, etc. This will be an event that you don’t want to miss!

Had a great ride at Skeggs today. Something between 17 and 20 people (some joined us in the middle, some left early, and I never got an accurate count to start with) showed up for the ride. Conditions were great.

Before you ask – Yes, Passion does do bikes with drop bars and skinny tires…
On to the bike… This is likely to be the least custom, or should I say, most stock equipped Build Of the Month in some time. This Specialized S-Works Roubaix SL SRAM is the top of a very fine line of performance road bikes, and left little room for upgrading. The adjustable Barmac, range of sizes and long rails on the Body Geometry saddle, and uncut fork steerer negated any need to change out components to get the ideal fit for this rider.
