Share the Road

Michelle Kashima, Chair person for the Share the Road Committee for Orange County Wheelmen has created a petition called Share the Road, which can be viewed and signed by clicking the link below. Because of the help of California cyclists and non-cyclists alike we are gaining signatures on this very important cause. The California Share the Road license plate is in our grasp, but we need more signatures (7,500) to send it to Sacramento and make this special interest plate available for all.
The proceeds from this special interest license plate will be targeted to help:
• Educating motorists on how to safely share the road • Educating bicyclists on the rules of the road and safe riding • Educating event directors and bicyclists on best practices for event safety • Providing guidance to bicyclists involved in crashes • Outreach to law enforcement on the rights and responsibilities of motorists and bicyclists
• Working with Caltrans to improve bicycle safety around construction sites
And more!

Please remember that anyone may sign the petition. All you need to be is a California resident. For quick reference the petition can be reach directly at:

We are getting there, and pretty fast I might add. When you consider that most petitions have to pay people to sit outside places like Target to get signatures. Cyclists on the other hand are a very tight community and we all support one another, so things get done fast. This is why I love riding my bike!
Ride safe everyone
