September Build of the Month - Santa Cruz Juliana

Some of you are probably saying “Huh, Santa Cruz? I didn’t know you were a Santa Cruz shop?”
Well, you are right, we are not a Santa Cruz shop. But we have built more than one, and have serviced many. It is very common for customers to buy a frame elsewhere they want built, or for Charles to work with other local shops to get bikes we don’t normally carry for customers.
Enough of the story – let’s look at the bike…
The owner wanted a Juliana frame based on the fit, reputation, and because it met their budget. They ordered it from Cambria Bicycle Outfitters via the net and had it shipped directly to Passion.
They had won a decent fork in a contest, so used that. They also provided a few other select parts they had, and had Charles fill in most of the rest of the parts to complete the bike.
If you look closely at the list, you may notice something interesting. The bike has a Dura-Ace chain on it, which is a road grouppo. We have fund the Dura Ace to be the longest lasting chain we have used that shifts and runs as quiet as it does. A durable chain will reduce wear on expensive drive train parts like chainrings and cassettes, and is only $34.00
