Just a quick update on a few items that may be of interest:- Tahoe Rim Trail Epic
- El Corte de Madera Creek OSP (Skeggs) trails
- Got Lights?
- A Day Off for Employee Training
- Do You Want ‘Employee’ Training?
Tahoe Rim Trail Epic – NorCAMBA is putting on their “Tahoe Rim Trail Epic” on the weekend after this (Aug. 18-20). Food, movies, riding, camping, and a bit of giving back by doing some trail work are all in the plans – sounds like a great weekend! Better yet, it is almost free, and there will be a raffle for a new suspension fork. See http://www.norcamba.org/index.htm for info and to sign up.
El Corte de Madera Creek OSP (Skeggs) trails – earlier we reported that there were plans to close El Corte de Madera Creek trail and Giant Salamander trail starting this summer. Things have not gone as smoothly as the park district had hoped, so they have had to change plans. Latest word is that Giant Salamander will likely close in September, and El Corte de Madera Creek will not close this year. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
Got Lights? – Our Wednesday rides are still going strong, but daylight is starting to slip away. It is recommended that you bring some form of lights (front and back) with you, as we will likely be riding back to the shop on the roads in dark. You don’t need a full on HID light setup (though you are welcome to bring one), more along the lines of something to make sure you are seen. To help with this, we have some nice LED handlebar lights on sale for 25% off (look for them on the sale rack) and will give 10% off any other lights we have in stock to Wednesday night riders.
A Day Off for Employee Training – Passion Trail Bikes will be closed on Sunday, September 10 for a special staff training day. When you work in a bike shop, what does training mean – we ride! We wouldn’t be useful for you unless we know the trails and how the gear we sell works, so on that day most of us will be riding up at Downieville.
Want ‘Employee’ Training? – Do you feel left out and want training like we get? You’ll have your chance, as we are planning a gathering up in Downieville for early October. Shuttle rides both Saturday and Sunday, with time for a swim in the river and a relaxing night at the Riverside Inn. Berry knows the good trails, so this should be a blast. Details now posted!
