The Lounge

The lounge has been getting some use recently. We are having our second movie night this Friday, have been having pretty regular rides from the shop after work, had some folks down after an MTBR.com ride, etc. Good fun.
Note – If you haven’t heard about these, then you may want to sign up for our email list where we send announcements about rides and events.
But even with the lounge getting use, I suspect there may be some confusion regarding how it all works. Patty posted some signs providing guidance, but I thought it might be useful to also put the info here…
For those that don’t know, we have a lounge at the shop. It has chairs, a futon, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker (named “Ethyl”), and lots of supplies. Even has open access Wifi, for those with a computer. Please feel free to make yourself at home. Jump on the futon if you need a nap, grab a drink if you are thirsty, etc. Unless the food or drinks are labeled as belonging to someone (yes, the shop employees use the fridge to store their lunches), it means it is open to be consumed.
Are the food and drinks free? Well, we are not in the business of selling them, so we don’t charge for them. But someone does have to pay for it. To help with that, we have a donation jar out on the table that we would appreciate if you dropped some coins or bills in from time to time. We buy the supplies in bulk to minimize costs, but it still costs us some money. Donations are used to help offset these costs. And if by chance our cup runneth over, we will donate the excess to NorCAMBA to support the trails.
Thanks to Charlie Kortman for the photo – he grabbed this shot of the folks relaxing in the lounge after the MTBR.com May By The Bay ride at El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space.
